Guide to Precious Stones
Gemstones have been desirable since ancient times, and are as appealing to us today as they were to our ancestors generations ago.
Guide to Enamel Jewellery
The enamel in Diamond Box Fleet enamelled jewellery is made from molten glass. All of Diamond Box’s enamels start as solid crystals of coloured glass, which are ground into tiny grains, a bit like sand, and then applied by hand to each piece of jewellery at Diamond Box’s Orkney workshop.
Guide to Precious Metals
We are proud to be one of only two jewellery makers in the world authorised to use official Scottish Gold from the Cononish gold mine, near Tyndrum, Scotland's only commercial gold mine. Many of Diamond Box's designs can be made in 18ct yellow and white Scottish Gold. If you would like more information about this exclusive precious metal
Jewellery Made Just for You
All of the jewellery ordered online through our website is made-to-order specially for you. But for those of you who wish to have something a little bit different, this page answers some of the most common questions we get about personalising Diamond Box's jewellery.
Guide to Hallmarking
The hallmark consists of three symbols: the Maker’s Mark (also known as the Sponsor's Mark), the Metal Fineness Mark and the Assay Office Mark.
Presentation Boxes & Gift Wrap
All our jewellery is carefully wrapped in anti-tarnish paper and then packed securely in Diamond Box Fleet presentation boxes. A small card that explains the inspiration and story behind the design is included with each of Diamond Box’s pieces. This card also contains useful information on how to care for your jewellery and keep it looking its best.
Caring for your Jewellery
All jewellery needs to be treated with care. A brief rub with a jewellery polishing cloth before careful storage is easy to do and will help keep your jewellery looking its best.
